Abstract The fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) armor composites are kinds of composite materials specially designed and manufactured to prevent the penetration high-speed bullets fragments. FRP commonly composed reinforcing fibers, resin matrix their interfacial structures. vinyl ester (VER) is a kind thermosetting applied in field high performance bulletproof composites. However, VER has problem insufficient toughness after curing, which seriously limits its application. In this research, graphene nanosheets were homogeneously dispersed into by ultrasonic-assisted dispersing process. effects content on mechanical dynamic thermal properties castings investigated. graphene-toughened VER/aramid (AF) prepared hand layup-vacuum bag molding influences flexural strength ballistic resistance VER/AF results showed that tensile strength, elongation at break, non-notch impact casting filled with 0.1 wt.% increased 5.6%, 27.6%, 11.7% 90.5%, respectively, compared those unfilled casting. glass transition temperature Tg gradually increase content. process effectively reduced filtering effect fabrics sheets.
